Corey Dallmeyer is the founder of Telescope Boss. He is an amateur astronomer who conducts regular community outreach events in his small town. He loves sharing his passion for observing the night sky with families.
I bought my first telescope in 2019. It was a 10 inch manual Dobsonian, an Apetura AD10. I fell in love pretty quickly.
I am not afraid to ask questions, so I joined a few Facebook groups and started asking all the basic questions. There is so much to learn when you get your first scope. I started buying eyepieces and accessories like crazy too.
I had that scope about a year before upgrading to the XX16G
I grew in my knowledge and skill a lot in that first year and I started inviting people out to observe with me. At one event we had well over 100 people come out to take a look.
This was an incredible event for me and I knew my passion was not just in astronomy, but in sharing the hobby with everyone.
When I started doing some research in the astronomy community I found that many people feel like they cannot or do not share this hobby with their friends or family. I found this pretty disheartening, so I hope to help amateur astronomers love and share the hobby with friends.
